Hi,
I recently bought a Zotac ZBOX NANO ID18 and I have a RAM issue: I bought 2 x 4Gb DIMM, but it always see only 4Gb (even from BIOS). Tried to swap the two RAMs, but nothing changes, always shows 4Gb and not more.

I bought 1333mhz ones, while the mb supports 1600mhz, however when asking in other places they said shouldn't be an issue, the RAM would just go slower but should still see 8Gb.
Anyone has any ideas on how to solve this ? could be the Zbox mb that has problems ?

Sorry, I didn't realized that your device uses SO-DIMMs (laptop memory); please disregard my comment above.

Just for info, the so-called ranking is used mainly on workstations / servers and enables large quantity of RAM (ex.: single rank: one single dimm per channel; dual rank: two dimms per channel; quad rank: four dimms per channel).

In your case, not only the DIMM's have the same specs, they also came as a kit, and by kit it means that they are perfectly matched. Zotac specifies the use of either DDR3-1333 or DDR3-1600 and supports up to 16 GB of RAM. There are three possibilities:

1) One memory module is damaged. Please try with only one module at the time and see if the device is working as expected;

2) The memory is not...

Terrible advice, mixing ram is just asking for trouble.
I look at some forum and while the 1333 memory should run, it's not compatible with some brands and might only with all same memory stick.
You might want to email them on the subject to be sure.

2) The memory is not compatible with the device. Zotac have a list with memory brands tested on that device, and for 4GB modules they certified only memory from Hynix and Samsung. Normally, any laptop memory should work, but renowned brands are preferred. As a side note, I never heard of that memory producer, Komputerbay (maybe it is an italian brand);

3) Issues with the motherboard.
