Aggghhhh!

This 26 mb patch has taken 1h 45 mins on a 512k dsl conn. What the hell are
dialup users supposed to do? Maybe more ppl are playing UO than was thought

That's because 7AE was just AOS repackaged with the gift/extra char slot
code and $10 cheaper. Since SE just went gold a couple days ago, it should
come with version 4.05a of the client.

Given that there is only about 100 (or fewer) housing spots available,
there isn't going to be the killer load on the housing servers as
there was with the AoS opening.

Uh huh. Your use of the term "should" indicates you must be new to OSI.
Never expect logic from them. I fully expect a LBR client on the UOSE
disc that must be patched for 2 weeks before gameplay commences. 😉

Not really new, but I did miss out on Ren through AOS, so yeah I haven't
really experienced the hell of a new expansion install. I don't recall T2A
being all that traumatic.....

Don't you have that backwards? Since there are fewer housing spots there
will be a much greater load on the login and shard servers as every single
player tries to places houses in those few spots!

Plan for the worst is my new motto. :)

Actually I've been seeing houses fall all over the place in UO this last
month so it's probably not going to be so bad.

Nope. The load will be intense but brief, as opposed to the intense
and ongoing load of AoS.
