I'm wondering where my new PC build stands in gaming and performance/any potential add ins or upgrades for future reference:

-Nvidia Geforce 3060
-Intel i5-12600k
-Samsung 990 pro 1 tb m.2
-Samsung 870 1tb sata
-Corsair 2x16 ddr5 c40 5600 MHz
-MSI Z790 Gaming plus WiFi
-NZXT H5 Elite
-Corsair ICUE 240mm liquid cooled radiator

I would prefer to spend 800-1000 later on, on GPU & CPU combined. 400-500 per component. Ordering from anywhere works, Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg.

You’ve got a lot of options. Your biggest thing holding back gaming is the rtx 3060 which really isn’t a bad card. But if you are wanting to upgrade start with that, then you could always pick up a 14th gen cpu.
