Hello

I am building a new pc for gaming and to learn 3D softwares. Following are my parts I was thinking of buying, is it good? Can I reduce cost by little without compromising too much? Maybe I can go with 14500? I would prefer to stick with Intel, because in past when I went with AMD I had many issues with drivers etc.

Processor: i7-14700
AIO: CoolerMaster PL360 (Can I go with air cooling or even stock heatsink?)
MOBO: MSI Pro-Z790-S-WIFI
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 6400Mhz 32 x 2
M.2: Corsair MP600 Pro LPX 2TB x 2
GPU: Zotac 4080 AMP Super
PSU: MSI MPG A1000G
CASE: Lian Li Lancool II
Monitor: AW2723DF (Any 2k, 27 inch alternatives worth considering?)

I have never encountered any driver issues with AMD cpus, but I guess is posible to maybe have them.

Both Core i7 147000 and i5 14500 are very good options for gaming, as for 3D software the Core i5 will be missing a few cores (physical and logical) which, depending on the software/projects you use/do, may or not have a huge impact on your daily work.

As for air cooling you may get away with a dual tower unit with two fans (specially for the Core i5), as long as you get a good airflow case. Not of a fan of that particular case you wrote there, but you can check a review online to see how it goes airflow wise.

As for the monitor, not entirely sure what are you looking for but LG has lots of awesome displays options, as well as some samsung and msi ones.

At work I use cad based software, from Zeiss, and have had 0 driver related issues from any of my AMD or Intel systems. 🤷‍♂️

I would choose the i7, as it will hold up longer. Could you put your build into a PCPP list and share it? Makes it a bit easier to do a comparison for parts/pricing.

I would suggest something like this to save cost:

the 14700k requires an AIO for heavy loads.

If you want DDR5 option at increased cost:

Thanks.

1. are you suggesting going with 14700k instead of 14700? I was choosing to go with 14700 so maybe I can save on cooler. The ram you are suggesting isn't available in India.
2. Also, in your list you suggested 3400Mhz ram, shouldn't I get minimum 6000Mhz ram?
3. Case you are suggesting is slightly big, it might fit under my desk but I am not sure. Is Lancool II bad? I will check what cases are available withing my requirement. (I need 3 slots for HDD, maybe I will get rid of one of my HDD and go with 2 slots).

Thanks for all the suggestions

6000 speeds are DDR5 only. The ram they listed is DDR4. There is little performance difference between the two, due to high latency of ddr5 vs ddr4. Going DDR4 does save money, where as DDR5 has future support. I wouldn't use a HDD, unless you are looking at some really high capacity drives.
I looked at your system, and its price, and came up with this for a bit less. Due to availablity in India, this may not work for you though.

Thanks, I will go with this. I will just go with Corsair 2500D Airflow case, because I need to use at least 2 HDDs out of 3. Otherwise an ATX case.

Recently I saw several people complaining that their Adata M.2 drives becoming unusable too early, should I go with corsair/kingston instead?

Just have the latest firmware for your SSD and you should be good. The S70 blade is a well reviewed SSD model.

if you are fine with mATX, the Lancool 205 mesh is a bang for buck case. I have the same case and is a great budget option! pics in my sig.

Sorry, I had few more questions after checking PRO-B760M-A-WIFI details.

1. From what I read, I can't overclock if I don't have z790 chipset motherboard, is that correct? Then I should just go for 14700 instead? (Maybe not because 14700k still has better base clock speed)
2. On motherboard page it says, if I use m.2 slot, then SATA8 slot will be unavailable. And what I understood from it is that if I use m.2 slot then I can only have 2 more SSD/HDD. Is that correct?
SATA8 will be unavailable when installing M.2 SATA SSD in the M2_2 slot.

Right now I have 256GB SSD for OS, 4TB and 1TB HDD with lots of data on it. Additional 500GB HDD that I was willing to not use anymore after upgrade. I can also get rid of 256GB SSD as my OS will be on M.2 drive. I just wanted to confirm if I will be able to use the 2 HDDs after using M.2 slot.
