Question Controller's analog sticks are turning off/getting stuck ?

I just bought a new Dualshock 4 for PC gaming. I went into Steam to check if all the buttons are working and it wouldn't detect the analog sticks being moved.

I pressed down on L3 and R3 with some force and then it could detect them and they were working fine. Here's the issue, they randomly get stuck (Not physically) in the top left position. so my character starts moving in circles and looking up and to the left. I click the L3 button (normally, not with pressure) and everything's fine again.

Then after a while it happens on its own, again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
