Specs:
I7 2600
rx 580
8gb ram
MSI MAG 550w psu
OS: windows 10 pro
Storage 500gb hdd, 500gb ssd
I am looking for a slight performance boost on a rig ive been working on for my brother. The i7 2600 came with the optiplex but I've seen some people have been able to use sandy bridge xeon's. I was wondering if a e3-1280 would work as my friend has a few on hand who could give me a good deal. I believe it should work as someone had mentioned using the e3-1280 on a forum on Dell's official site and someone was able to run a successful benchmark with the processor in this system on userbenchmark. (They are not on Dell's official support list)
Successful benchmark: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/49974109#PROCESSOR
