I just got myself a PNY RTX 4060Ti to use as a stop gap until the day I get can a 5090 when its released or afterwards. I still have time to take it back. I use my card mainly for 8K video rendering. I have noticed a speed difference rendering 8K from the AMD 7950X GPU I was using before it. But Im wondering if I should just spend the extra $200-300 dollars and get a 4070 or 4070 Super? Between each card I was looking at was a 40 dollar difference. My 4060ti was $570 plus tax, and there is a Zotac 4070 Super(I have heard they aren't that great, but they are the cheapest and will I notice much of a difference for a short period of use?) which is $770. And then there is an Asus 4070 for $720 and a Gigabyte 4070 Super for $810. All prices Canadian. Again between my 3 options its a 40 dollar difference. First off is Zotac really that bad? Secondly is it even worth getting a 4070/4070 Super for what little increase I'd get for the extra 300 bucks? And are the Super cards that much better? Or should I just stick with my 4060Ti and live with it for now? The 4070Ti is out of my price range at the moment. I dont really want to go above 800.

With cheap price, there isn't much to be expected reliability wise.

Zotac GPUs, namely the cheaper ones, are usually bought by those who can not afford better version of same GPU. And one should expect the GPU to last at least the warranty period (more than that would be lucky with cheaper versions of GPUs).

And are the Super cards that much better?
Compared to 4060 Ti, 4070 Super is quite a ways better in professional application.

This manifests itself in faster render times. If you have time to wait, you can get by with 4060 Ti.

AMD 7950X GPU
This is a CPU and not GPU. Unless you're talking about iGPU in it (Radeon Graphics), which, compute wise, is FAR slower than 4060 Ti.

For the amount of time I'll use it, I got the Zotac 4070 Super card. It should do me for the time being.

And yes I was referring to the internal GPU on that AMD 7950X. I think it's equivalent to a GTX 1030.

Radeon Graphics in your CPU are actually worse than GT 1030. It is even worse than Intel UHD 770 iGPU,
comparison: https://technical.city/en/video/Radeon-Graphics-Ryzen-7000-vs-UHD-Graphics-770

It is about equal to GTX 550 Ti from 2011 or Radeon HD 7750 from 2012,

Interesting. Thank you for your info. I didnt know that about the CPU. Im sticking with my 4060Ti because it would be problematic to return it, according to the place I bought it. So I cancelled my order for the 4070 Super. Not only that but the payments on the 4070 ended up being twice as much in the end than what I have now. I'll wait till the 5090 comes out and I'm also told the iGPU on the Ryzen 9950X will be a bit higher scale as well.
