Question Run into an issue with ASRock B250 Gaming K4

Edit - disregard, I checked manufacturers website and this motherboard simply does not support anything beyond 2400MHz. Not sure why other settings are even available.

Your chipset won't allow you to go above DDR4-02400Mhz;

regardless of what ram kit you drop into any slot nor any processor you have on the socket,. If you want to take advantage of the ram, you will need a Z270 chipset board.

Thank you, yes I am not sure what I was referencing prior. I mistakenly thought this mobo would support that speed.
