Question Uneven sound from Creative SBS260 speakers

I use Creative SBS260 speakers and a Thompsonic TS-50 power supply because the original power supply for these speakers broke. When I listen to these speakers quietly up to about 5% of the speaker volume, only the right speaker plays sound, but above about 5% of the speaker volume suddenly the left speaker turns on and plays sound at the same volume as the left speaker. It makes sense to change the speaker volume balance in the system settings only if I listen to the speakers at a volume of about 5% of the speaker volume, but above this volume only if I always listen to these speakers very quietly, but I listen to them differently. Sometimes I want to listen to them loudly and sometimes I want to listen quietly. Again, I would have to set the speakers to their original balance if I adapted them for quiet listening.

Seems to me like the potentiometer in the speaker has a build up of carbon. You might want to use contact cleaner if the POT is ventilated, if not you will need to replace it.
