Nvidia card's output look washed-out compared to your AMD card's output? A possible fix.

If you are using both Nvidia gfx cards and AMD gfx cards like I am, you may have noticed that the image presented by Nvidia cards sometimes looks less brilliant, more washed-out than the same image on the same monitor with an AMD card. There could be a simple fix; changing a setting in the Nvidia Control Panel (NVP).

When Nvidia cards connect to an HDTV or connect to a monitor via HDMI, they sometimes set themselves up with a limited dynamic range. Check your NVP/Display/Change Resolution and look for the "Output Dynamic Range:" setting. If it is set to limited, change it to full. I did this both on a 1080p monitor I'm using and a 1080p HDTV I'm using. The change was immediate and amazing.

The full explanation of why this happens and why the fix corrects the display appearance can be found in this article: https://pcmonitors.info/articles/correcting-hdmi-colour-on-nvidia-and-amd-gpus/
