    Upgrade a Dell Inspiron 2650

You cannot put anything else in it other that the P4m series processors that have the 100mhz FSB. Those are higher FSB processors. I have put the SL6VC 2.4Ghz one in, I got it off ebay for about 30 bucks. My usage on VLC has gone done to about 60% and it is the same wattage as the 1.7ghz...

    Another e8400 goes 3.6

To tell you the truth I really can't tell a difference when I o/c'ed to 3.6 on mine. Speed wise with booting and loading stuff it all seems the same. But with things that are cpu intensive like say Bloons Tower Defense 3 I used alot of it in the higher levels and it could get pretty bogged...

    Overclocking My Wolfdale e8400

I o/c'ed my E8400 to 3.6ghz just by putting the fsb to 400. No change in anything else. Using the stock cooler and it doesn't go above 50*C playing COD:WAW or Company of Heroes. Sits around 30*C to 34*C on idle with speedstep enabled. The ram tried to change to a higher frequency but...

    HP Ignoring Nvidia Chipset Problems?

I just hate the lack of support. I have tried to help friends on their HP notebooks and both times I have had problems getting the right driver for this or that, even when they say that it is the right one for the machine.

    KingstonValue Ram 4 x 2GB DDR2 800Mhz

If they are both DDR2 they should work as dual channel.

    KingstonValue Ram 4 x 2GB DDR2 800Mhz

With your board you should be able to set the timings for the ram to run at all the same speeds. I would think that you need to put the CAS 6 in first. The CAS 5 will run at the lower clock. I'm not exactly sure that it will work, but it never hurt to try. And also, I have Kingston...

Intel Cuts Prices of Core 2 Duo, Quad Chips

Too bad they aren't dropping the prices of worthy LGA 775 Upgrade CPUs. I am wanting to go to a Q9650 from my E8400 when its time to upgrade for me. I don't want to jump into a whole new build just yet.

    Sniper Case

Load it out with fans. I did on my CM-690. A little on the noticeable side but not that bad. Sure helps with temps in a stuffy dorm room. I could even get my P4 HT Prescott with stock cooler to come down to the 30 range in this case.

Will this work with my P5E?

They are both LGA 775 and also it can do the 1366 for the i7. I already knew that, what I was talking about was it would clear the large heatsink that ties the voltage regulators, X38, and ICH9R together? If I would have to take that off I would need to replace a lot more than just the cpu...

Will this work with my P5E?

I have been looking around here for awhile and I would really like to get a different heatsink than the stock one that came with my E8400. I was looking at the XIGMATEK Dark Knight since it came with the backer plate in the package and the darker color would go along with my case and board...
