Higher CPU temp after replacing HSF with Hyper 212+

Not being a wiseguy, but you did remove the plastic protector film off the bottom? My i5 with that cooler idles around 30c. Because of the spaces between the tubes, many "butter" the bottom to fill the spaces, then remove the excess, and then very thin line on each pipe. VERY thin, you just want...

    PC3-12800 shows as PC3-10600

More a curiosity, but I have this ram, and can physically confirm I have the right 1600MHz ram. KINGSTON 4GB (2 x 2GB) HyperX PC3-12800 DDR3 1600MHz CL8 (8-8-8) 1.65V SDRAM DIMM, Non-ECC Everest, CPUZ, even Memtest shows it as PC3-10600, or PC3-10700. I have it running at 1600MHz now, and ran...

    Help with timings please

Thanks for anwering Saint, your answer is best by default, lol. I set BCLK to 160, set Ram to 1600MHz, 8-8-8-24. Ran Prime 95 4 hours, and memtest 6 hours after that. Looks like I'm good to go. Now to google why everything recognizes my Ram as PC3-10600, even memtest... Thanks again, A Guy

Changing Base Clock Effect On Memory?

Thanks for the reply jclw. It looks like the 1600 is about $14 more. But will I notice much difference between 1333 running at 1280, and 1600 running at 1600? Will the difference between the 1333's CL7-7-7, and the 1600's CL8-8-8 be negated by running at 1600? I'm likely to get the 1600 since my...
