[SOLVED] How to use VPN Router to connect to home network from anywhere?

I'm not inexperienced with networks but they're something I have problem piecing together in my head so I would appreciate some clarification and a little bit of guidance immensely. I have a standard carrier router and I use a managed switch to offset some internal workload. I'd like to be able...

Question USB Billboard device on USB 3.1?

So I couldn't change it from "USB Billboard Device" to anything else but I went to update driver, unchecked "Show compatible hardware" and selected "WinUsb device anyway and that changed the manufacturer of it and so far I haven't had any repeat issues so in case someone is in my situation...

Question USB Billboard device on USB 3.1?

I recently purchased a 7 port powered USB hub and it connects via a USB 3.1 cable. Windows detects it as a "USB Billboard Device" and I have the option to safely remove it (But not the 4 port one of the same brand). I've come across a few odd issues such as it makes my monitor blink and then...

[SOLVED] Poor LAN speeds of 1Gbps between two computers unless physically connected.

Correct. Just figured out that even though I specifically disabled flow control on the switch, I caught it enabled. That fixed the speed issue. I appreciate the response. Hopefully someone comes across this thread when in a similar predicament.

[SOLVED] Poor LAN speeds of 1Gbps between two computers unless physically connected.

I've tried without any success. It said the server was running when I put it on one computer and the other computer could not find it in client mode even with both firewall's off and I was already stressed enough troubleshooting one issue.

[SOLVED] Poor LAN speeds of 1Gbps between two computers unless physically connected.

This is a bit of a different circumstance than what I was able to find anywhere else. I have 2 Windows PC. Both have 1 gig NIC, cat 6 cables. The router/modem does 1gbps and the switch I have does that too. Switch is a NETGEAR GS108T and Router is an ARRIS touchstone. When transferring files...

[SOLVED] ANY strictly LAN activity renders anything else (Such as Internet) unusable.

Thank you for your response. I got the switch AFTER the fact since directly into the router due to it being absolutely unusable not because it can't find it, because the load balance seems to be off. I could do it with only the switch but that won't tell me any proper information, I didn't...

[SOLVED] ANY strictly LAN activity renders anything else (Such as Internet) unusable.

Okay so I have 2 custom built computers, one for my Desktop, another for my NAS. Both have a 1gbps NIC. The NAS is running Windows server 2016 and the desktop is running Windows 10 Pro. I have an Arris modem/router combo. Whenever ANYTHING happens that involves anything moving files back and...

Who wants to help me figure out why my computer keeps freezing\crashing?

Well after long and painful testing, I believe the issue is either the RAM or the RAM slot on the motherboard. I used windows memtest, memtest95 and MemTest 6.0 and left them on overnight (or as long as I could) and never found any errors or anything. I said screw it and tried one stick of RAM...

Who wants to help me figure out why my computer keeps freezing\crashing?

UPDATE: Last night it kept getting more and more frequent, I looped the Intel Diagnostics tool for a few hours and nothing out of the ordinary changed, could not provoke anything but a pass. Recently the CPU was spiking at 100% over nothing (Says one thing then you end the process and another...

Who wants to help me figure out why my computer keeps freezing\crashing?

First off, thank you for your time, Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I referenced other threads that had hardware issues and they posted in their respective OS. This computer is my everything and I pray it's not a hardware issue as I'm not financially suited to replace much of anything...
