One other note: I disabled the AMD drivers and the new monitor did seem to run a lot more stable, however only under Microsoft basic display adapter drivers which is no good for me.

Is the compatibility just for the Freesync features? I disabled Freesync in my monitor's settings hoping that would help alleviate that issue. I haven't tried DP as my GPU/Mobo don't have a port on them for it - Just HDMI or VGA.

Have you tried the PC on a different display to see if it's the monitor where the issue lies? If it doesn't work on another display, can you use the motherboard HDMI port to boot the PC and check in your BIOS that your GPU is recognised and set as the primary?

Wait for the 3080 to be in stock, only upgrade in my opinion that would be seriously worth it.

What processor is it by the way? If it's something like the new devil's canyon chips it'll run fairly hot anyway. Long as you don't go above 80+ under load you'll be fine

Yeah it'll fit, it will replace the cooler that sits directly ontop of your CPU and attaches to your mobo. (It's a full new heatsink)

Get a better cooler for your CPU, are you still using the stock that came with your processor? Change it out if you are, for something like the evo 212 and you'll see a world of difference.

Idle temps will only be a few degrees different, it's under load you should notice the difference really. If you don't get the temps you want under full load, remove it, remove the TIM and re-apply it, then reseat it again to see if that helps.
