Well, for a long time now drivers have been as important as the hardware in the GPU space. Intel may put out something with pixel pushing power but last I looked their drivers were 6 month releases. It may take a good long while for them to truly catch up and I fully expect them to abandon GPUs...

From what I understand "3nm" does not necessarily mean what it has traditionally meant and more of a marketing label, perhaps as is mentioned above why the improvements seem underwhelming. 3nm is half the size of 7nm, that is huge. In the past that has meant an almost linear half power consumption.

Well the shroud on fans helps to contain a lot of noise - if the tips are open I would imagine this card will be quite chatty under load.

It takes a lot of advancements a long time to filter through to the general public. Like quantum mechanics which took 60 years or so to build the world you live in today. All that foundation was put down before you were born, it just seems very shortsighted to write it off.

There is a genuine issue arising. We are nearing the end of the road for current technology without a breakthrough. Going to each successive node is also costing more and more.

What would you replace them with? Nothing? I mean, there is a reason fallout 4 is as big as it is and they stopped there. They are never going to continuously develop content.
