Do you use vsync by any chance? When your game spikes, the GPU usage is 60% or it reaches much lower?

Can you check your CPU/GPU usage when playing games and note down what the usage is when the spikes do occur? You can use MSI Afterburner's overlay, so that you can see it in game.

Your memory seems to be unstable. Sure, it may have been fine during those two months, but you most likely didn't stress test or memtest to see if it was long term stable. Have you tried memtest? For the time being, go down to stock memory settings.

I would just like to add that my Nvidia 9800GT was thermal throttling as the GPU would go high as 100-105 degrees Celsius at load and 80-90 degrees Celsius on idle....pretty bad indeed, it was the GPU's problem after all. The card is 8 years old as of now and 6 years old as of when it happened.

How does your PSU have no PCI-E cable? What is the PSU model? Also, if you mean there isn't an 8 pin (6+2) connector, you can use a molex to 8 pin and 6 pin.

That's what I thought too but this has been happening since I bought the card. It might be the case ventilation but I don't know how to fix that? Also, it doesn't crash if I downclock it though and it's still has high temps.

@techgeek: I got the parts and now it's secure evenly, yet the temps are still the same. I remember when it was with the stock fan, I got the same temps? Maybe it's my CPU, if that's possible? Anyways, at least it's secure now....

Yea, you might be right....I personally think it's a GPU issue since the fan noise shouldn't be really loud as I've seen in reviews, the noise should be 30 dB yet, it sounds like a leafblower....
