Question PC freaks out and turns off when GPU is used

Sort of found a solution... I think the drivers helped, however not completely. Since all of this (I believe since I reset the drivers), I can now use the GPU without the PC crashing. However, it's very specific. If I run at 3440×1440 resolution or higher, it's going to crash. At 2560×1080...

Question PC freaks out and turns off when GPU is used

Does anybody know, is there a way to disable the motherboard temperature sensors all together? Next tried undervolting my GPU... That caused the computer to freeze and restart even without doing anything that would use the GPU... Got the undervolt off, and it's back to "normal" I noticed...

Question PC freaks out and turns off when GPU is used

Gave it a go. Same issue. Used only 2 of the 4 sticks of ram (made sure they were matching)... Ran Unigine Superposition at 4k for quick stress... Didn't last even half-way through the stress test. Was worth a shot. Sincerely wish it were that easy

Question PC freaks out and turns off when GPU is used

Trying that next... Not holding breath. I had been using these 4 sticks of ram for years. I forgot what ram it was. Having pulled out all four sticks and observing their specs, they are basically identical. All four sticks are: 4Gb, G-Skill, 1866mHz, CL9-10-9-28, PC3-14900, 1.50v... They all...

Question PC freaks out and turns off when GPU is used

Sorry, Thought I had it in the original post... Both PSU's listed were 850w. The Raidmax was bought new, less than 3 years ago. I figured Raidmax isn't a very reputable brand, and I got it for a very cheap price, so my first hunch was to go with a brand new, very highly regarded EVGA PSU. The...

Question PC freaks out and turns off when GPU is used

System specs: CPU: i7-4790k MoBo: Asus Q87M-E GPU: Vega 64 Ram: (mixed) 16Gb PSU: EVGA G5 80+ Gold More info: I've tried several things to solve this issue. Everything I try seems to work... but only for a couple of days before the problem creeps up again. Last three things I've tried: 1st...

    Stunted benchmarks GRID2?

A while ago upgraded to an MSI Armor RX 580 4gb from a GTX 750 ti (paired with an i5-4570s, 16gb RAM, and a Samsung 850 EVO SSD) and have seen the improvements I expected as far as playing games at higher settings and still achieving 60fps. Recently, however, I installed and benchmarked GRID2...

Crossfire capable motherboard and single GPU slot compatibility

Just bought an Asus Q87M-E, on eBay for $36. Supposedly came from a working machine. Purpose for buying it was to crossfire my RX 580 later this month or early this year. So far I found that one of it's 4 dimms and the built in HDMI plug are broken. Everything else, so far seems to be okay...

    Athlon X4 950 with crossfire 4gb RX 580

Upgrading my computer. Need new CPU, Mobo, and Ram. Currently own one 4gb MSI RX 580 Armor, and wanting to buy a 2nd one. My thoughts are, the ideal computer would be a coffee-lake i5 with crossfire 580s, however I only have less than $400 to spend right now. Figured I can either get an i5-8400...

    Non-K, i5-4570s, mild overclocking

IFigured it out. Probably possible, but Intel really doesn't like it. After many resets back to defaults ueif settings in bios and then minor tweaks to bios these last few days two things happened no matter what bios settings I used: First off, my CPU got locked into using only 3 cores. 2ndly...

    Non-K, i5-4570s, mild overclocking

I did figure out that if I disable two cores and enabled fixed oc mode (which disabled turbo boosting). Benched again and got two cores to stabilize between 3.5 and 3.6ghz. Enabled three cores and during benchmarking got the cores to all jump around 3.4 and 3.6... I'm not sure if enabling fixed...
