Hi,
I've got a Lenovo V110 laptop which we'd swapped an SSD as part of a batch of upgrades. The SSD is pre-imaged with the correct drivers for the model.
All the others have worked fine but this one. When we rebooted it, the caps lock indicator light and power light come on solidly and the fan...
Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade the RAM in Lenovo V130 laptop for a friend.
It has 4GB RAM as standard, soldered in. There's one extra slot for an upgrade, and my friend used the Crucial website to order a compatible 8GB RAM upgrade. However, the laptop isn't recognising the additional 8GB.
I've...
For a long time I've kept my copy of Logic Pro X on an external hard drive as I was short of space.
A few months ago I copied it onto my MacBook Pro and it worked fine; tonight I've copied it on our iMac which I've just upgraded with an SSD. When I open Logic, it tries to download the basic...
Hi,
One of my clients has a whole bunch of Lenovo V110 laptops. As video calls become more important, staff are really frustrated that the speaker on the V110 is so small and mounted underneath - both volume and sound quality are totally inadequate.
Just wondered if there is a larger...
Hah! I'm also cynical about Apple but for the purpose I have in mind, I need a mac of some sort! I'm also really keen to learn to repair this stuff myself.
I'm upgrading an old 2011 iMac with an SSD. It's only got 4GB RAM and I'd like to up it to 8GB.
I know it's DDR3 RAM but just wondering if anyone knows specifically what it is and whether it's a type also used in Windows desktops? Anything marked as being for a mac tends to have a hugely...
Hi,
I've got a late-2014 mac mini that won't switch on.
I plugged in a power lead that I'd verified on another mac mini, connected it to a display that I know works but when I pressed the power button, nothing happens at all - no light, no fan noise, nothing.
It passed a PAT test in July of...
I've got a late-2011 13" MacBook Pro. For the first 5 - 6 years of owning it (from new) I bought exclusively OEM Apple power supplies for it but each of these only lasted 4 - 6 months before breaking and at almost £80 each I couldn't afford to keep buying the real thing so I started buying...
Hi,
I need to replace the display on my HP Pavilion bc350na gaming laptop as it's developed a fault where it's just showing a solid white screen.
I was going to use an exact original spec replacement, but a friend has mentioned that sometimes you can get a better spec display for the same...
Connection was the problem. I was using a USB- VGA adaptor which could only output at certain resolutions. Swapped it over with the monitor in the VGA and all sorted.
Thanks! So I managed to get it working by scaling down the resolution to 1024768... for some reason my computer doesn't offer 1366768 (But I've started a new thread for that).
Thanks for your help!
Hi,
As mentioned on another thread I've been having some issues using an old TV as a second monitor. I managed to get a picture and it's actually not bad given the age of the TV, but so far I can only get 1024*768.
The TV's native resolution is 1366*768 but there's no option for that in either...
I'm certain I've asked this before but searching through my content I can't see it anywhere so I'll try again!
I've got an old Toshiba 20WLT56B TV which I occasionally use for playing PS3. The inputs are 2x Scart, Component, S-video and a PC-RGB (VGA) input.
I want to use it as a monitor...
