I probably should look at doing that sooner rather than later then. I posted a picture if that gives any suggestions as I thought the temps were high when I first built it

Sounds like it is overheating if it is getting really loud then cuts out. Try using CORE TEMP to read the temps when on high load as some programs don't always read temps correctly. You could try changing the thermal paste between the CPU and the cooler and seeing if that helps

Intel is generally better for gamers and AMD better for productivity but Intel won't be bad for productivity either and it generally runs cooler. However AMD is known better for being value for money as it is cheaper per core
