My PSU started to have coilwhine from one day to another like yours. It were very loud, and unbearable without a headset with high volume. I tried taking it out, then a screw fell out of the PSU. I have no idea to how it came into it, but the coilwhine stopped.

As an update, I have found a buyer to my GPU, who will pay 463USD and the GPU I was looking at got a price reduction so it now costs 506 USD. So the upgrade cost 43 USD, which I will do.
