I REALLY don't understand this active adapter crap. Help /w 3 monitors. I THINK I got it...

I just wanted to check in again to follow up... I ended up getting the active adapter I posted in my OP and my 3rd monitor is up and running perfectly. So my full setup is now BenQ via DVI-D, Acer #1 via DVI, Acer #2 via DVI->DP via active adapter. Thanks ingtar33 for checking in!

I REALLY don't understand this active adapter crap. Help /w 3 monitors. I THINK I got it...

I understand I need an active adapter. I just don't know which one I need and for which monitor, and if I need to re-do the way my monitors are connected or just hook up the 3rd one via AA.

Before we begin: I have zero interest in Eyefinity. I want everything separate. I've been searching for the past half hour and I'm still confused as hell... There are a lot of topics on here that "appear" to cover what I need to find out but I just don't understand how I'm supposed to configure...

Any good prebuilt gaming PC companies out there?

It's not hard to physically assemble a PC. Almost every part, connector, plug, etc. can only go in one particular way. If you have more than 2 RAM slots, they're usually color coded so you know which 2 go together. Motherboards pci-e slots are usually labeled with their speeds so you know which...

Twitch Streaming - AMD vs. Intel. Which one for me?

Well here's something I did not know... That I'd have to reinstall Windows if I made the switch to Intel. I bought an OEM version so I'm SOL. Buying another copy of Windows with an i5 4690K and mobo will put me over my budget, so I guess I'm going to try the FX-8350 route.

Twitch Streaming - AMD vs. Intel. Which one for me?

    Forgive the excessively long post but I'm giving you guys every bit of information for the best possible answer. My current build: - FX-6300 - 8GB DDR3 1600 - R9 280X - CM Hyper 212 EVO - Win7 x64 - Corsair HX750 ----------------------------------------------------------------------...

    Game getting low fps -_-

My gaming setup will it work?

Do you have the 970 there twice on accident or are you looking to SLI? If you're looking to SLI, I would upgrade that power supply to a better 750W, or just jump to a Gold or higher 850W. The EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 is really good for $130 on newegg (and $30 rebate to make it $100).

    Game getting low fps -_-

Silly question but after you change graphics to low, do you keep max FPS as high as it can go?

    Is my PSU working?

As long as everything is plugged in and all your parts are being powered and operating correctly, there is nothing else to do. You can use zip-ties and make the inside of the case look neater (also increases cooling efficiency) if you want but that's personal preference.

    Need advise on this system

Depends on what kind of games you're going to play with that hard drive. Generally, the green will have longer loading times. If you're going to spend money on a GTX 970 and i5 4690K, I'd spend the money on a black.

    Will this build work?

When shopping for a motherboard, just make sure it has the appropriate slots/ports and speeds for the parts you have. If you're looking for more advanced usage (ie - overclocking, SLI/CF, etc.), that's when you want to consider a motherboard that is better designed.

    gtx 960 psu requirement?

I personally wouldn't get a Corsair CX as that is one of their lower tier series but yes, the CX430 is capable of powering your setup.
