Hey all, whilst moving my hardware to a new case I somehow managed to nick the corner of a wire on my GPU that was sticking out and have exposed a very small portion of the wire. (Honestly don't know how) From what I can see in the schematics of the GPU (EVGA 1080 FTW) it's the LED connector...

With those specs you should be able to run at high to ultra. Although to maintain 60fps+ at ultra is a tough task, my newest build can handle it but it was also just built yesterday. Maybe another gpu for sli?

It will all come down to preference, as a recent grad from a Computer Information Systems and a minor in Computer Science, any of those machines will handle whatever you throw at it for work. Many of my classmates sued Mac's and PC's, obviously Mac will have alternatives to the popular programs...

Sadly I can not top mount the radiator in the case, removing the side panel drops the temps by maybe a degree or two at best. I have a custom fan curve set in afterburner that will force the fans to 90%+ if it hits 70c. should I lower the curve and see what the temps are like then?

If the laptop has two ram slots then the ram you listed above will work assuming the heatsinks are not massive. Usually theyre low profile so that ram should fit and work just fine.

I just bought and installed the NZXT kraken x52 AIO cooler, and it looks as good as it runs. Well worth it from every angle, was also my first AIO cooler.

Have you looked at task manager to see what is consuming all of your resources?

From my quick research on the socket and chip-set, I believe that everything should work just fine. PC-PartPicker would tell you as well if not, so for precaution when the Ryzen comes out add it to your build and double check that it doesn't throw any compatibility warnings. :) happy building!
