Right, so, first of all - surgical spirits isn't rubbing alcohol, I already looked that up. I've already been to my local pharmacy too. So, thanks for the lovely sarcy tl;dr but if you'd actually looked into it you'd find there are several threads/comments out there stating not to use surgical...
I live in the UK, and over the past 3 days have made trips to various shops on the way to and from work, with no success in finding rubbing alcohol/isopropyl alcohol. My gf found some on amazon but told me that B&Q or Asda's DIY section would have it so it wasn't worth ordering, but this was not...
Something to consider:
Some companies block IPs from outside their country from seeing their site/products because the content is illegal, or at least a dangerous grey zone in other countries e.g. Japanese firms worry about the implications of lollitas abroad.
I may be offered a corsair AX 850 from Russia, should this be the case, would it function? Their mains voltage is 220v, whereas mains voltage in the UK is 230v. This used to be the voltage in NI and as far as I'm aware they didn't need appliance changes.
The AC input is 90-264v, 10A at 50/60hz...
Thanks for the suggestions fastwing, I've been in touch with amazon and they said they can refund me it at 80% of the price I paid for it. My only trouble is I could've sworn it cost more than they say it did (I can only see order total, not indidivudal item prices), and the refund is well below...
Hey fastwing, thanks for the reply.
I'd thought the HD was better suited to me- especially as I use 2.1 and at most digitally reproduce 5.1 in games, but I wanted another opinion.
You say the champion is easy to shift. I've not resold any electonic goods before (truthfully electronics in terms...
I mis-ordered my sound card while I had a relative in America, ending up with a Titanium Xfi-champion (the gamer card with a front bay) when I had thought at the time it was just another Titanium HD but with a front bay.
I can't return them, the best I can do is try to sell them then buy a...
I'd be happy with 2.0 and leaving it to my sound card to produce false 5.1. I've not got any experience to back my opinion up, but I can't help but think headphones/a headset with 5.1 built in wouldn't sound too great in practice.
I guess I still have a mic to find.
I can't test it for the moment, as I've delayed my full rig until ivy bridge comes out (so I haven't bought win7 yet). But if this is correct I have officially internet embarrassed myself with my "I'LL SOLDER IT, PLEAASE WORK" antics.
Heck, I recall comments related to this workaround now.
I recently obtained a high-end creative Xfi sound card for a nice price, and after (thus far) ascertaining that there's no way to get the pretty usb headset I'd been considering to mate with it, I'm in the market for an analog set.
However, I'm still considering getting the usb headset for LAN...
I guess I'll go down the avenue of proper analog headphones and use a usb headset (for the noise cancelling mic) for LAN etc. Will be continuing my quest in a separate thread.
Thanks for the responses.
