a pc bought in 2015, no need to upgrade till now tbh, and now that i need a full upgrade, gpu prices skyrocketed , so im just hanging their with my ddr3 till gpu prices drop down again and i get a full new system

i tried running it at CL9 but it was causing my BlueScreens and random game crashes, so i just slowed down the faster ram to CL11, since the performance difference isnt noticeable

Thanks for the help everyone changing my timings to 11-11-11-28 in bios fixed my issue! and no i didnt try raising the voltages to make the slower ram run at CL9 since, it might cause stability issues in the long term, and according to people, the performance difference is like 2% or so

basically, I'm stuck between two options I have got a CL9 ram and a CL11 ram, i can either slow down the CL9 ram to 11 in order for them to work, or sacrifice stability and overclock the CL11 ram to 9? is the speed difference worth the stability risk for gaming ?

just a question, is the difference between CL9 and CL11 noticable in games ?

Will it be stable longterm tho ? also is the CL9 one running at 1.55V too safe ?

that wont burn the memory right ? since it's rated at 1.5V also, should i be using XMP or not ?

should i underclock the CL9 one to CL11 ?

i mean, is there BIOS tweaks that i can make to make them match timing or something ?

Moderator Merged Thread Basically, i have made the big mistake of buying two rams of matching frequencies, but didnt pay attention to clock timings since i wasnt that knowledged about them when i made the purchase running them together has being causing me some BlueScreens while gaming after...

nvm the links i sent are wrong, the old ram is CL9 and the new one is CL11, is their a way to make them work togetger ?

Never mind, i was wrong, after opening my pc and checking both rams, the old one is CL9 and the new one is CL11 now the question is, is their a way to make them work together or is their no hope at this point ?
