Probably. I got it all squared away with the correct motherboard. Boots up just fine but now I have issues with games crashing to desktop!! Out of the frying pan and into the fire :/

Thank you kind strangers for taking the time to read the post...i am embarrassed but quite pleased to say I found the solution...a loose hdmi happened to be the culprit. Thank you again for all the help and advice you give to those who need it.
