My mobo is "asus b85m-g micro atx lga1150 motherboard" and they were all plugged into the correct spots. I just found the issue, the 20+4 power pin was not plugged in all the way. The +4 was disconnected causing some issues, after it was reinserted i picked up on all my ram.

when i let my computer sit or even when i am using my computer, i will switch between programs using 'alt' + 'tab' and see random programs (that are nothing) in there usual it gets up to 10 tops but today there were probably over 50. when i try to open them nothing happens and i cannot find them...

the plastic cover you were talking about was the issue. i didnt know it was a problem and i removed it when i was installing the heatsink and when i put it on then booted up my computer i worked. thank you so much
