[SOLVED] Oculus Quest vs Windows Mixed Reality Headset

Have you considered a Rift S? It's about the same price as the Quest and has a very similar tracking design. Rift S allows you to move the lenses away from your face to accomodate glasses but be warned, using glasses with VR headsets has the possibility of scratching the lenses. Might be worth...

Question vr head set lag even though I meet requirements

What are your full specs? "Distortion" sounds like ASW is struggling to maintain 45FPS (or 40FPS if using Rift S). Do you have any performance issues with non-VR games?

[SOLVED] Is my pc good enough for vr? Upgrade and headset advice

Avoid the Vive and go Rift S, the screen quality difference alone is worth it. Nearly everyone on r/Oculus cannot tell the difference in refresh, and most of those users have upgraded from the Rift CV1. The screen resolution is much higher and the screen door effect is nearly removed on the S as...

    [SOLVED] VR for racing

What are your system specs? Kind of important for headset recommendations. As far as VR headsets go, the current recommended models are: Oculus Rift S (or CV1 if you want to go pre-owned but S is generally much better) Valve Index (don't bother with Vive unless you can get one at a cheap...

[SOLVED] HDMI/DP Not Working On GTX1060 But Only In One System

Hi all, So as the title says, neither my HDMI or DP ports work on my Gigabyte GTX1060 (GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 3G). Only the DVI ports work and they operate as expected. I've confirmed the cables and monitors work using an old GTX750ti. The odd thing is that it actually operates fine in another...

Internet Speed capped at 1.3 mbps

Sounds like you've got the units mixed. 8mb/s = 1MB/s. What rough speeds do other devices receive? (WiFi results are fine).

[SOLVED] Looking for a TRUE 144HZ 1MS display

Not sure about the "1ms" response time, it's usually just marketing rubbish. I do have this Acer monitor which does 144Hz and is pretty decent: - https://www.pccasegear.com/products/41485/acer-kg251qf-fhd-144hz-freesync-25in-gaming-monitor You do have to be careful with the "Overdrive" mode...

    cru downsampling 2560 x 1440 help needed

I'm surprised you can downsample with CRU, generally it won't allow you to use higher resolutions than what the monitor can support (will give you "Out of Range" errors). Why not just use the SuperSampling options in the Nvidia settings?

    [SOLVED] Input Lag On PC

IPS typically has higher input lag than most monitors (usually with TN panels) but it shouldn't be really bad. Can you test with any other monitors? What peripherals are you using as well? EDIT: Also consider using borderless, that can sometimes help depending on the game.

Buying advice for 5- or 8-port switch

Yep, as long as it is an "un-mananged switch", it will be plug and play. You can get a managed switch if you want to play with VLAN's or POE features but sounds like it would be an unnecessary cost. Switches are usually pretty foolproof purchases as long as you buy from a well-known brand and...

Static IP loses internet access after reboot.

Is this static address set in your routers settings or just on your device? It sounds like the address could be getting re-assigned through DHCP. What is the DHCP range for your router and what is your static address? (eg 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.0.10). When this happens, does other devices...

Port Forwarding for video games / applications?

You would need to at least set it in the router settings. Otherwise the router will drop the inbound traffic before Windows receives it. You might need to configure Windows Firewall manually but I'm under the impression that it normally allows most programs through anyway so doesn't need to be...

Netgear AC1750 Cable Modem Router not finding computers for WiFi connection

Is the adapter dual band (2.4/5GHz) compatible? Lots of laptops typically have 2.4Ghz only. Check in the settings that both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz are broadcasting in the Netgear settings. You can check this by downloading an app like "Wifi Analyzer" to confirm that it is broadcasting in both 2.4...
