I did not use a certified drive for this, a look around the net shows people using non certified drives, hard disks, and external m.2 drives and still being able to use Windows to go. I cant even get to the point where I am supposed to enter my key. After the W8 logo it BSOD's.

Using Win8.1 Enterprise I made a Windows To Go disk using the tool in the control panel. The process seemed to go fine, I installed to an external USB 3 hard disk and there didn't seem to be any errors. However when trying to boot the device on any of 3 different machines I get the same BSOD...

Seems there is not much info out there about m.2 I may just wait and see if m.2 goes the way of msata and fade into the wind.

I am building a new work machine and as I am dealing with a lot of large photos and such I would love to have as much performance as I can afford at the moment. My motherboard, Asus H97 Pro has an M.2 slot on it. I was considering picking up a 128 gb Plextor for it which has an equivalent price...

I am looking to add a 120 or 250 gb version of the Samsung 840 evo to my desktop build. I saw they offer these drives in normal SSD form and an msata version. I also saw on passmark that the performance scores for the msata version of the 120 gb version is roughly 25% better than normal SSD...

Oh and the typeset was for simplified mandarin, not on most machines by default.

Thanks. I think for my available options it will be a decent machine without overspending too much. I chose the Asus H97 just because its 4 dim and a trusted brand, otherwise there are many other options but many no name brands here. I dont need the m.2 support though. Which would be your first...

Oh yes and I have tried that SSD work option, its great and I generally try to do that. In fact I even considered a plextor pcie card for such but its out of budget at this moment, maybe in the future.
