W8 to go BSOD wont boot

I did not use a certified drive for this, a look around the net shows people using non certified drives, hard disks, and external m.2 drives and still being able to use Windows to go. I cant even get to the point where I am supposed to enter my key. After the W8 logo it BSOD's.

W8 to go BSOD wont boot

Using Win8.1 Enterprise I made a Windows To Go disk using the tool in the control panel. The process seemed to go fine, I installed to an external USB 3 hard disk and there didn't seem to be any errors. However when trying to boot the device on any of 3 different machines I get the same BSOD...

Seems there is not much info out there about m.2 I may just wait and see if m.2 goes the way of msata and fade into the wind.

M.2 or SSD for Asus H97

I am building a new work machine and as I am dealing with a lot of large photos and such I would love to have as much performance as I can afford at the moment. My motherboard, Asus H97 Pro has an M.2 slot on it. I was considering picking up a 128 gb Plextor for it which has an equivalent price...

Samsung 840 evo VS. 840 evo msata

I thought it seemed rather fishy. I will choose the normal 840 EVO in 250 gb flavor. Thanks!

Samsung 840 evo VS. 840 evo msata

I am looking to add a 120 or 250 gb version of the Samsung 840 evo to my desktop build. I saw they offer these drives in normal SSD form and an msata version. I also saw on passmark that the performance scores for the msata version of the 120 gb version is roughly 25% better than normal SSD...

    Photo editing machine

Thanks. I think for my available options it will be a decent machine without overspending too much. I chose the Asus H97 just because its 4 dim and a trusted brand, otherwise there are many other options but many no name brands here. I dont need the m.2 support though. Which would be your first...

Here is the rough list I came up with before: 799 Asus H97-Pro http://item.jd.com/1143957.html I read that the pro boards are a bit more durable in their line. 2099 i7 4790 http://item.jd.com/1125073.html 1469 i5 4690 http://item.jd.com/1125072.html Also an option I would entertain 1069...

Ps. I found some xeon processors on amazon.cn but all from third party sellers and the costs were astronomical, about 6-800 dollars a piece.

http://list.jd.com/list.html?cat=670,677,678 Here is the online store I will be using, the language may be an issue but you will be able to find all the components they stock on the left drop down where it says cpu. 16g ram is my minimum, which is why I opted for a board with 4 slots so I can...

    Photo editing machine

Um...thanks for all that. I guess I could have mentioned that I have been doing photography for quite a while and know the whole deal about color. My monitor is a Eizo ColorEdge CG241W and a Dell U2410. Both get regular calibration from a pro who comes by from the print shop that most of my...
