Philips' Latest 4K Monitor Is Huge At 40 Inches

It's a nice monitor, but since it is not gamer-specced wrt response times and so on, I will that the 50 inch Samsung UE50HU6900 is still the better choice at the same price. You just gotta have a 970/980 to drive the Samsung though(HDMI 2.0 out)

Dell P2815Q 28-Inch Ultra HD Monitor Review

Avus, a 50 inch UE50HU6900 is 750 euro and UHD@60Hz capable. A 55 inch is just 100 euros more in Europe and thus you should be able to find them for the same dollar amount in the US as right now, that pretty much goes for any HW since we Europeans gets charged more and it just happens to fit...

VisionTek CryoVenom R9 295X2: Two GPUs In One Slot

This card is pretty irrelevant for normal people unless they want it out of spite. For computation farms and HPC, it's kinda interesting as you can now stuff 6-7 of these cards on the same motherboard and use 14 GPU's for OpenCL programming before you have to pay the overhead of another node in...

    Gtx 980 at 1440p resolution.

It should be enough. The 980 is weaker than the 780 Ti at 1080p but as the p rises, the 980 gets better and has less framerate variance. Expect about 40-45 FPS at 1440p. Maybe alot higher depending on advanced detail level like turning off a single feature. Or go 2xMSAA instead of 4xMSAA...

Nvidia Launches GTX 980 And GTX 970 "Maxwell" Graphics Cards

As another guy said: HDMi 2.0 is all I care about. Ain't got no 780Ti to upgrade anyway but I do have a UHD tv to run at 60Hz for desktop. And lower TDP is always good. Power prices after taxes of all sorts is $0.50/kWh here.

MSI Teases New GTX 970 Graphics Card

Niels, would like to know whether or not the 970/980s will have HDMi 2.0 ports? Kinda hoping but not holding my breath, sadly...

Will Apple Watch Wear Smartwatch Crown?

If there is an Apple watch or other digital watch, that can do all of the following, - At least match what the Garmin 910XT can do, including being waterproof and built for sweat and slightly rugged too. - Have at least 6+ hours of battery time, while actively GPS records and doing feedback...

Intel Core i7-5960X, -5930K, And -5820K CPU Review: Haswell-E Rises

Chris and Igor @ TomsHW, Bit disappointed to not see a comparison with the Xeon E5-1650v2(or 1660v2), as the 2600 is a bit overkill comparing prices. Some of us just need a workstation with ECC ram and not just a free-for-all(ie someone else is paying) Xeon 2600 fest.

    Finally, An Asus X99 Motherboard

Actually with a board with a PLX onboard, you can have "88" lanes(40 CPU assumed + 48PLX), cause the PLX will enable switching around WHICH 40 lanes are being used at what port and the latency for that operation is so small you won't notice. Virtually speaking, you'll have 40+48 lanes available...

Rumor: GTX 880 to Launch Mid-September

This. I don't give a hoot for performance over my 770 either. Tbh if a 870 = 770 + HDMI 2.0 ports, I'll get one and sell the 770 unless they can somehow SLI(unlikely). I take it you are also gunning for a Samsung UE<inches>HU6900? 40 or 55 for you?

Huawei Boss: Windows Phones "On Hold," Tizen "No Chance Of Success"

Owner of both an iPhone and a WP8(Windows Phone 8) here. I ditched my old iPhone 4S for a Nokia 930 and it was initially a rough ride as I have my main mail accounts as Gmail and Google Drive. But truth be told, WP8 is trying hard and doing decently and the apps may be few and rare, but they...
