Not too surprising. Even as an AMD fan we all know many people will still choose Nvidia even if AMD has a better product at a cheaper price. They never really took AMD cards seriously anyways, their top end SKUs like the Suprim and liquid cooled version were for Nvidia cards only.

How is the power in your house? Do the lights dim when something like a PC/Heater/Hair dryer draws a lot of power? If so it could be that the power is fluctuating and voltage is dropping or spiking when the PC is under a heavy load like when gaming.

I'd wait for the new gen CPUs unless you have a use for the extra cores in a non-gaming workload or just cannot wait. If RAM comes with the motherboard it could be a decent deal. I upgraded from a 4790K to a 9900K a few years ago and the 9900K plays all my games and handles my rendering...

I'd be quite disappointed with Intel if their new architecture couldn't outpreform AMD's 5000 series TBH. Though it still remains to be seen if Alder Lake will be competitive with the next gen AMD CPUs. Either way it just shows that real competition is a good thing.

Yes you can use your old setup, the GPU shouldn't have any issue running that way. I personally use 3 separate cables with 1 connector a piece to my 3090, although I have CableMod sleeved cables so there's no extra splitters dangling in the case. But that's just an aesthetic choice, it's not...
