That is unfortunate. Searches of this topic reveal that it's a thorn in the side of so many users. It's surprising that a reliable workaround hasn't been found.

I certainly am not. There are several files, none of which are malware of any sort. I'm not looking for an audit of the specific files, I'd like to know how to make WD do what I tell it to do.

Will the standard version not allow this? Is there no workaround?

I'm trying to replace the fan on a Sabrent dual bay USB enclosure. I can't get the connector to budge. There seems to be some play if i move it side to side but not up and down. Is there a trick to these kinds of connectors? I didn't see any kind of locking mechanism on the plug

Shame. it just seems like if your going to have any at all that they would increase in quality and features, not get cheaper.

There's been a sharp decline in the quality of solid USB enclosures available to buy. It seems like the majority of them are either hot boxes with no active cooling or docking type enclosures that don't secure the drive in place well enough for them to be portable which I need. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I'd like to have the "Computer" section of windows explorer show a combined total for all local and networked drives. This is useful from a space management perspective as I have a large cluster of drives across a few computers.

The data itself is sound. I'm just not sure of any effects not readily apparent due to the modification of that folder.

Erm, I'm not backing up the OS. It's a media drive. The system volume information folder is the only system folder on the volume.

It does in the context of this scenario. Using DirSync Pro, when you copy a folder and it replaces that same folder on the target volume, the program categorizes that as "modified" rather than a simple deletion.

The program copied the folder from the old drive to the new one, thus replacing the folder in the new drive.
