Discussion Redmibook Pro 14 - 2024 Owner..... AMA?

I've since sold the laptop - but do not recall seeing anything of the sort in the BIOS.

Actually say like that yesterday. It's maybe a little more strain than I'd like, but it was totally readable.

Certainly possible, although no reason I can think of that would be the case. My charger supports all the charging standards needed for 100W, so unless they're proprietary in some way (Xiaomi phones? Not sure), I'd think probably not.

Yeah, I believe I read both support charging - but in actuality, while the indicator flickers when connected to the rearmost, it doesn't 'actual' charge. Interestingly, I couldn't find much on the firmware issue. Installed it anyway, and now dark mode looks very grey & washed out. There is...

I haven't been able to alter the profiles (other than Windows, obviously) and haven't resorted to trying to install the Xiaomi app.... yet. I hadn't installed the ARC Control software - doing so now and will report back tomorrow. *EDIT* There are no power limit controls presented for the iGP...

Yeah, likely a big price factor. Interesting on the USB front - did you ever try dropping the chip set drive on the USB? The 'no drive' to install to has been around a while now...

[SOLVED] Lower performance than expected for Core i5-12400 and 7900 GRE

Basically, your GPU is waiting around for the CPU to "catch up", given these stats. What did you upgrade from? At 1080p, I wouldn't expect to see the 7900GRE fully taxed when paired with that CPU - but would've assumed a *bit* better performance. Have you checked what is using up your CPU...

Discussion Printers still at COVID-19 prices in India

Here (Canada), things like Printers have settled down at a 'new normal'. Prices definitely increased during the pandemic, as expected due to supply chain issues - then, coupled with inflation etc, their 'new' price is probably ~10% higher than it was immediately prior to the pandemic...

Question 3-year-old Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 CPU Cooler Starts making water sound on PC startup

Water sounds? Like bubbling? Where is your cooler mounted in the case? Is the pump/block the highest point (vs the radiator)? As a side-note, it sounds like your unit would be in the right timeline range to be potentially effected - and eligible for the service kit...

COST I paid $1,234 CAD and about $80 in tax/import duties. Around $1,300 CAD to my door (say $950 USD, 890 EUR, £760) This was during Aliexpress' "anniversary sale" however, which was the main reason I pulled the trigger despite being able to do minimal research. Usual retail is around...

Discussion Redmibook Pro 14 - 2024 Owner..... AMA?

I struggled to find much about this laptop while I was looking - so figured I'd post this thread to assist others. Long story short, I was in the market for a new laptop - replacing an XPS 15 9520 (i7-12700H, 32GB, RTX3050) and a temporary Surface Laptop Go, downsizing a little - and I was...

Show off your newest system upgrade components here!

Doesn't really qualify for the thread, but been in the market for a new laptop (was going to buy an XPS 14, but cost + not fantastic reviews turned me off), so picked up the RedmiBook 14 Pro. Core Ultra 7 155, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 2880x1800 panel up to 120hz 🤷🏼‍♂️ can't complain for the money...

Question 2 sets of 3 monitors off of 1 PC?

MST hub(s) or daisy-chained DP monitors (functionally hubs) would be required, given the number you're talking. Not 100% sure at this stage on supported resolution - I *think* because you'd (essentially) be running 3x monitors off 1x DP connector, even 1440p/144Hz may be a stretch...

Question does a psu wattage account for transient load spikes, & will a 650 be enough for this build?

Which "650" PSU, specifically? Yes it's 'safe' - maybe not the most efficient, but 'safe'. UNLESS you play on frequently (not rarely) running every component at 100% power-draw, you won't even come close to the ~582W listed. Assuming you're not overclocking the snot out of the 14700K, of...

Question 2 sets of 3 monitors off of 1 PC?

What do you intent to run this off? 3x 4K 144Hz may be a challenge to run, let alone the two banks of 3 monitors you hope to achieve! The idle power consumption of any given monitor is negligible - and I can't help but feel having them all ready to accept a signal at any time is *likely* the...
