I think I'd go ddr4 and let ddr5 get its legs under it so the speeds go up and prices come down. Of course if I had anything Intel gen 8 and up, I'd just try to wait for the next iteration altogether, which is where I am.

My opinion is I'm not chasing the frames at 4k and becoming indentured to Nvidia/AMD for life buying the top card every release. Your mileage may vary though!

I'd hop right on the 3070 and enjoy it. When you get the opportunity to upgrade then you can then and if things are anything like the present you will be able to flip the 3070 and probably get more than enough back to cover the 3080 at MSRP. If nothing else I'd buy the 3070 at MSRP and just...
