No adapters, just regular old gaming headphones meant for PC use. I'll take a closer look at the sockets and headphone jacks. Since the problem sometimes also happens just by plugging another device in a socket in the room, maybe it's some sort of grounding issue or something like that.

I have 2 options, Speakers and realtek digital output. I have tried setting both of them to the default device but still nothing. and the test still fails. On top of that when i try to play a song on spotify now, it just keeps skipping songs until the program stops responding.

That's the driver i downloaded, I have an ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO.

My audio works fine with the default windows drivers but once i download the realtek driver it doesn't give me any audio, when I try testing the audio in the sound playback setting it says it failed to play test tone.

I am building my first PC and I've chosen a 144hz 1440p monitor as my main but I'm looking to buy a second monitor. I found a good deal on a 144hz 1080p monitor but i'm wondering if there is a significant difference in quality compared to a 1440p monitor.
