Repartitioning C drive after Install of win 7

Acronis true image is an excellent imaging program. It is really quite straight forward to use and what you need to do is choose back-up and restore. You need to select the drive and target device / partition (for the back-up), I use an external hard drive. The last thing I select is to use the...

Repartitioning C drive after Install of win 7

Do you have a back-up utility such as Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost? It might pay to create a back-up of the entire drive before resizing partitions. Windows 7 has the option to e tend and shrink partitions. I would begin first by shrinking the partition I wish to take space from, then...

Installing Windows 7 on both of my PCs hard drives.

You're correct number13. One install per machine per license. The CD offers only one valid license, unless you have volume licensing. The same also goes for virtual machines. I know there was an issue with Vista + Xp dual boot where Vista would over-write / delete the Xp System Restore points...

    Looking for firewall

You can also decide on which firewall is most effective for you by running them through a free "online leak test". There are plenty to be found now if you google for them. The GRC one was and probably still is the industry standard.

How to clear all print drivers

Another option to try is to Stop the spooler service and set it as a manual start up item. Reboot and log in as administrator and try again.

How to clear all print drivers

This might sound obvious but worth asking about. Have you tied doing it in safe mode? I agree whole-heartedly, removing drivers should not be a chore... especially printer drivers of all things.

How to close a port in udp

What kind of router / modem do you have? I would adjust the firewall rules there to block the port. It is relatively easy with a SBG900 cable modem and it is by no means an advanced one.

    Location of OS

Syschat have an excellent tutorial on creating a Vista / Xp dual boot system. I used it myself to create the dual boot with Vista already installed: http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-vista-xp-vista-already-1946.html

How do I use my recovery partion?

Entering the recovery partition in my experience isn't achieved by hitting F8 on start-up. That is a Windows function for entering the advanced boot oprions utility. What you need to do is watch the screen closely during the boot time and keep a look out for e.g. Hit SHIFT + F2 to enter...
