Question Need a 4K 43" display for work + some gaming (budget is not important)

Hi, Yes. I got the 48" version of the LG OLED. It's fine for what I needed it for. I use spreadsheets for work, engineering line drawings/plans etc. and for that it has been perfect. The DPI is exactly what I expected as I already have a 24" 1080p monitor and so the 48" 4K screen is four of...

Question Need a 4K 43" display for work + some gaming (budget is not important)

Thanks for the excellent response. The FreeSync, 120Hz and HDR requirements were more for when using it with a PS5 or XSX, not the laptop for work. So it's not a 100% must have feature. I have two 4K HDR televisions that I use with consoles, but neither of them have VRR or 120Hz. So the plan...

Might get one of these... but need to see how well it handles text. Sony X900H

Question Need a 4K 43" display for work + some gaming (budget is not important)

As the title suggests, I need something for my work primarily, but I will spend maybe an hour per day gaming on it so I'd like HDR and 120Hz + FreeSync if possible. Budget is not an issue. I will not be using the PC as shown in my signature with this display, so please don't consider that as a...

    [SOLVED] 1440p 120fps or 4k 60fps?

Simpy put, if you want to sit on the sofa and be far from the screen, it's better to have a larger 4K display. If you are going to be close to the screen, go for a 1440p display. That's what I do. I currently have an Xbox One X that I'm using at my desk on a 1440p monitor and I find it's...

Question Problems with new Radeon card.

Using DDU is always a good idea. The latest drivers are also important. But sometimes... it's just the badly coded/optimised games that are the problem!

    [SOLVED] GTX 1050TI or 1050

A new GPU will certainly help. But do not expect miracles with your weak CPU (APU). It will always be the bottleneck.

[SOLVED] rx 580 8gb crossfire vs other cards

Things to consider with Crossfire (or Nvidia SLI)... 1. What games do you play? Are they supported by Crossfire or DX12 m-GPU and are they supported well (no stutter etc.) with good scaling? 2. Is you CPU up to the task (I would say yes, it is). 3. Do you have enough RAM (No - you will need at...

    High end machine underperforming?

Have you monitored CPU and GPU temps+speeds during heavy gaming loads? Sounds like one or the other is throttling for some reason. Might be temperature related. A 6700 @ 3.9GHz is going to give good fps in any game you throw at it. As a final resort, try re-installing Windows 10 and the drivers.

    Rtx 2060 or 2070

They had sold out within 2 minutes of my receiving the confirmation via email this morning. Some of the AIB cards are going for ~500€. Ouch. As for the RTX 2070, I honestly think that it is too overpriced and I wouldn't recommend it.

[SOLVED] FreeSync, Worth it? Vega 64 v/s 1080/2070/1070ti

Well if the price difference is that small for you right now, I guess you might as well. But Vega 56 with FreeSync and a manual under-volt is going to be quite close in most games. The scaling from 56 to 64 CU's is often not as much as you would expect, depending on the game ofc.

[SOLVED] FreeSync, Worth it? Vega 64 v/s 1080/2070/1070ti

I doubt it would even be £46 per year. A bit of under-volting and a Vega 64 will easily draw < 200W in gaming and will clock higher. I know this from experience. The GPU power draw is reported on screen by the driver, meaning you can be confident that your tweaking has worked. If you use Radeon...

[SOLVED] GPU fans stop spinning after 2s.

I wouldn't worry just yet. In light gaming the fans often never spin at all on my Vega 64. Put it under a heavy prolonged load and you should see the fans come on eventually. Alternatively, turn off 'Zero RPM' in the Radeon Settings control panel and click 'apply'. They should immediately spin.
