    2GB 4K or 6GB 1080p for video editing?

I'm getting a new laptop for video editing and some light gaming and I'm torn between the Acer Predator Helios 300 15" and the Lenovo Yoga 720 15". They both have similar specs except for the screen and graphics card- the Yoga has a 4K UHD display with a 2GB GTX 1050 and the Helios has a 1080p...

Can I clip my Anti-static wristband to this?

Shoot, forgot to update this. I'm pleased to say that my build was successfully completed and the PC booted without issue. I clipped my wristband to an unpainted screw in my PSU, which was turned off and plugged into a surge protector for extra length. I have since done this many times without...

Can't change VCORE in Gigabyte BIOS

Found the problem. The VCORE value is an offset that adds on to the original value.

Can't change VCORE in Gigabyte BIOS

Hi everyone, I have a Gigabyte F2A68HM-H motherboard paired with an AMD A6-5400K processor. I want to overclock this processor and can safely get it to 4.5 GHz at a voltage of 1.3438 in AMD OverDrive. However, when I go to change the VCORE value in my BIOS, I can only use the + and - keys on the...

Case rattling unless I put my finger on it

Hi all, My new PC is making a rattling noise that seems to be coming from the back case fan. I noticed that by touching my finger directly under the fan on the case, the rattling will stop, but will resume once I pull my finger away. I am curious as to what's making this sound and how I could...

    Okay CPU temp?

Just a quick update. My newly installed CPU fan came with a PCI connector with a knob to control the fan speed. I found that by putting this at a high speed while playing games, my PC ran much cooler and quicker.

    Okay CPU temp?

My PC is in a cabinet underneath the monitor. I've had multiple PCs there for years and it's gotten pretty hot there. In 2008, my PC literally started to smoke. I eventually got rid of the door and that solved the problem. Unless something could still happen.

    Okay CPU temp?

I just put in the new fan (scariest experience of my life, was very worried) and now it's at 60C or below, sometimes up to 73, idle. Is that okay?

    Okay CPU temp?

I just built my first PC and started playing some intensive games. I've noticed that while playing these games, the CPU spikes up to a max of 85 C. I am using an AMD A6-5400K with stock cooler. Is this normal? UPDATE: I just noticed that once it reaches these temps, it does not cool down.

Should I manage my cables or leave them like this?

I just built a PC and wanted to know if it's alright to leave my cables inside like shown in this photo. The CPU temps never go over 80 C, even when gaming, and airflow seems fine. Should I just leave my cables like this or zip tie them up? (The photo was taken at an angle, by the way. The mobo...

Why do some RAM sticks have covers over them?

I've been installing RAM for years now and I've noticed that RAM sometimes comes with a plastic thing with the brand name on it over the chips. What is this cover for and am I supposed to remove it when I install it?
