[SOLVED] No boot and cycling error codes on startup attempt

I had to go find the renamer tool on a different website because Asus doesn't include it in the download anymore or anywhere else on the site that I can find. Tried a few different iterations of file names (the one it changed it to was M11H.cap which didn't work). With the M11HX.CAP the bios...

[SOLVED] No boot and cycling error codes on startup attempt

The zip folder from ASUS only comes with the file, so I looked into it and various people said it doesn't matter. I can look for it and try to use that, but I did it manually

[SOLVED] No boot and cycling error codes on startup attempt

Well I'm getting the flashing blue button for five seconds which then turns to solid blue. From what I'm reading (and from seeing no change in results) this means the BIOS update failed. I've tried using a super old 64MB and a brand new 16GB USB2.0 in FAT format with just the M11HW.CAP file on it.

[SOLVED] No boot and cycling error codes on startup attempt

So the BIOS flash button in the back is no longer lighting up blue when powered on, and when I plug the USB drive in the light does not come on and the board switches from Qcode A2 to B4 USB hot plug. Have I fried my board or something?

[SOLVED] No boot and cycling error codes on startup attempt

Tried the HDMI cable and the display port cable, no change between the two. Tried the monitor connected to my laptop and it works fine. I don't have a second monitor to try on the desktop at the moment. If the monitor is working does that rule that out or do I still need to try to find another?

[SOLVED] Stripped screws on Dark Base Pro 900

Updating just because I caved and bought an extractor set, didn't work. Again, with the extractor not seeming to work do I just drill all the way through? I'm just not seeing how that will work if the screw is stuck, just making a hole through the middle of the screw. The source of the issue is...

[SOLVED] Stripped screws on Dark Base Pro 900

Just to clarify before I do anything I can't undo.... Is the idea to drill ALL the way through the screw? Will it just destroy the screw and allow it to be removed? I haven't seen an extractor that will fit this size screw, and I understand the idea with that is to drill a small distance and...

[SOLVED] Stripped screws on Dark Base Pro 900

I am going to pick up a drill (I need to get one anyway for unrelated activities for the house I'm moving into) so I believe I'm going to go that route. The screws are as they came from the manufacturer, so they are pretty much completely tightened down flat with no ability to get a flathead...

[SOLVED] Stripped screws on Dark Base Pro 900

Hi, I'm looking for help in removing some screws that are stripped or basically stripped. In order to install the PSU on the Dark Base Pro 900 rev 2 you must either remove the two screws attaching the bracket to the side of the case or by removing two screws holding the back metal mesh screen in...

Maximus XI z390 won't align to standoffs

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. Yes it's the Asus Maximus XI Hero Wi-fi z390, ATX and the Dark Base 900 supports ATX/EATX and others. The standoffs come installed for an ATX motherboard setup, so I haven't touched those. I tried your angling method and it has almost worked. I have faith...
