Okay that makes sense. My old fan doesn't have a mounting bracket of any sort, it's just screwed directly to the motherboard while the plastic plate on the other side is glued to it.

I'm thinking of getting Scythe's Low-Profile Shuriken 3 cooling fan after swapping out the motherboard and CPU for i7-8700k on an Gigabyte Z390 I AORUS PRO motherboard. But it has 4 connection points for screws, one in each corner. Not 2 parallel with the CPU like most fans seem to. Does this...
