I've had this happen in a Dell Precision 690 before... completely unrelated machine, but of the 64GB of ram I installed, windows 10 could only use about 32. It was all over the place, sometimes dropping down to only 6GB usable. What worked for me oddly enough was just clearing the cmos.

Just windows 8 :( But then why did two Windows 7 Home Premium laptops work? My account also has a secure password.

I enabled ports 3389 in both firewall and in the router, but still no luck.

I could not find anything on my routers settings page that is related to this firewall.
