@thx1138v2 I am running an FX-8350 (4.0GHz, 8-core) Newegg and ASUS site both say will support up to 1866 @Tradesman1 What is DOCP/where would I find that? Is that something that would show up if the mobo is currently ocing itself?

LOL, that is a good point. The news does seem very alarmist now. All the performance reviews up to this point wont magically be reversed from new found information, especially for what I am looking at doing for the time being. Thank you for putting my mind at ease :)

Yes, HDMI is backwards compatible with all previous versions. However, it will only run at whatever the shared version between all components happens to be, in your case v1.4.
