Is the new MSI Z270-A PRO LGA 1151 motherboard any good?

That's an i5 7600, not a 7600K. You will need the "K" SKU if you want to overclock. The Killer is a 6+4 by the way.

Is the new MSI Z270-A PRO LGA 1151 motherboard any good?

Add both to the basket and I assume the discount will show up. EDIT: It doesn't, but just keep scrolling in the recommended combos and you'll see it. 2nd page.

Is the new MSI Z270-A PRO LGA 1151 motherboard any good?

Due to there only being a 4+2 power phase, you probably aren't going to hit anything crazy on this. If overclocking is important to you, you may want to step up to something a little more geared towards OCing, like this...

    i7-920 and GTX1080

PCI-E 2.0 can only achieve 85% of the bandwith of 3.0, so that figure sounds correct. Alos, people need to stop recommending the GTX 1060. The RX 480 is only marginally slower, performs better in DX12, which will become more and more common, has more VRAM and is usually cheaper. Also, AMD tends...

Is my motherboard compatible with an MSI RX 480 graphics card?

In that case I'd stick with another RX480 4GB. Lots of solid options. I suggested the 8gb card though in case you decide to get into more serious gaming or just so it'll keep up for a little longer. It's well worth the extra ~$30 imho.

    i7-920 and GTX1080

Yes, it's compatible, but that CPU is very old. The 1080 will most likely be held back somewhat, but I really don't know how much by. It will still be very playable though.

Using two power supplies in one system?

Yeah that's the plan haha this thing is awful. I was thinking of going mATX to save space and get a Caselabs case so either way I'm getting rid of this.

Using two power supplies in one system?

Just a bump, for anyone who still cares. As anbello suggested, I'm bridging the pins and just manually switching the second PSU off and on, and it's been working perfectly for months. I've yet to have any issues with it. The only things that the second power supply is plugged into are the 6+8...

perhaps another MSI card? You could get the armour or the Gaming X, both are good.

Is my motherboard compatible with an MSI RX 480 graphics card?

The MSI one is still good, as is the Sapphire Nitro +, and just a suggestion, but maybe spend a little more and get an 8gb card?

Is my motherboard compatible with an MSI RX 480 graphics card?

Not really, I'm racking my brains here for an alternative to an RMA. Try another output than DP? Or try it in another PCI Slot perhaps?

Is my motherboard compatible with an MSI RX 480 graphics card?

Hmm, could be a dead card then. Do any fans spin/ lights come on? That wouldn't tell much but at least we'd know if the card is getting power. Is it possible for you to test the card on another PC?

Is my motherboard compatible with an MSI RX 480 graphics card?

OK, are you sure all the power connectors are plugged into the card? Also are you plugging your display into the GPU directly?
