Hhd to os to ssd

I got an i5 6600k in a 270 mobo by msi and I would probably only get 128 ssd to boot off and to have a couple things like steam.

I have a hhd with my OS and all other games and apps, I want to get a ssd to boot faster but I dont think I can just swap the OS onto it, or can I. Also I heard intel optane would give a nice boost.
