    Need Memory Speed Advice

Ok, so I went with the Corsair LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 3200. I don't know how I missed this before, but I just read that the i7-6700k supports up to 2133. Am I going to be ok with these if I set XMP to profile 1? I almost have everything I need to get building and I want to make sure I have it all right.

    Need Memory Speed Advice

The LPX series can be found in 2400, 2666, 2800, 3000, and more. So the 2400 would be my best choice? Also does the configuration matter? That is, what would be better - 2 sticks of 8Gb or 4 sticks of 4Gb?

    Need Memory Speed Advice

I need some help choosing memory for a new build. I need something pretty low profile so I'm leaning heavily toward Corsair's Vengeance LPX series. 16GB seems like it should be plenty. Now it's just down to speed and configuration. This will be primarily for gaming, but the rig will also serve...

    Re-Build Component Advice

Sorry to revive this, but I'm now questioning my memory choice. I was going for the Corsair Vengeance LPX series because it's low profile and should fit under my cpu cooler. However, I don't see this particular one on the supported memory list for my motherboard. Also, I'm not very clear on...

    Re-Build Component Advice

No hard ceiling on budget. I was thinking the i7 as it may future proof me a little more. Also, and maybe I'm mistaken on this, but aren't some games like the unity based kerbal space program, more cpu dependant? I also do a fair amount of transcoding, as I stream my movies through Plex to other...

    Re-Build Component Advice

I'm about to upgrade my HTPC to a more gaming capable rig and before I make too many purchases I thought I would ask you all to weigh in on the choices I've made. I feel pretty good about it all and the list checks out on pcpartpicker, but I've always got great advice from people on here. Could...

Graphics Card 1 mm Too Wide

It seems like I should be able to squeeze it in there, but I figured I'd ask first before I go and buy something. I have a Silverstone GD08 case (max card width of 133mm) and am looking at a ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB ROG STRIX (134mm width). I really like the case, but I also really like the...

What's the Best Internal Blu Ray Burner for Reading Scratched Discs?

I guess that's what I wasn't sure about. I didn't know if some drives used better hardware and/or firmware that enabled them to better deal with small scratches. Any idea who is using better hardware? I have not tried making an ISO first. I'm currently using MakeMKV to rip all my Blu Rays. I'm...

What's the Best Internal Blu Ray Burner for Reading Scratched Discs?

I'm pretty sure my Asus drive is starting to give up the ghost. It's beginning to show trouble with any disc that has even the smallest amount of damage. I get error messages in MakeMKV when I try to rip my Blu Rays that indicate trouble with reading the media. It's maybe 3 or 4 years old and...
