[SOLVED] PSU for dead computer + future build

Thanks for the clarification. Have you got any idea what this "typical board power" means? It seems like a term that is not very well defined.

[SOLVED] PSU for dead computer + future build

Thank you for the answer, do you have any idea if the 5700 XT will be around the same as the 2070 in that list? On AMD's website it says that the "typical board power" is 225W for the 5700 XT but is that some sort of average? It sounds like it could draw more power than 225W when stressed.

[SOLVED] PSU for dead computer + future build

Hi. My computers PSU (650W) died after 10 years of service, and I am thinking of upgrading said computer pretty soon. At E3 I saw that AMDs releasing a "2070 equivalent" in the RX 5700 XT card which will hopefully lower prices on the 2070 when it releases. The question is how big of a PSU I...

    Importance of dedicated GPU's?

Hi. I'm on the look out for a new laptop since my current one is getting fairly old and pretty slow. One of the biggest annoyances is it's inability to playback youtube videos/handle twitch streams without stuttering. I would like my new laptop to be able to do that. Can a dedicated GPU help...

    Replacing old hardware max $1.200

Thanks for the suggestion, however as I said in my post I already have a HDD so I'm going to spend the extra money on CPU/GPU/RAM/MOBO. I can see the mobo is m-ATX, shouldn't it be ATX or does that not matter?

    Replacing old hardware max $1.200

Thanks for the answer. Now can anyone tell me if the case is big enough for a 7970? And a great alternative to the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H? Would be much appreciated!
