Well yea, that was my guess as well but visiting the Asrock website there appears to be 6 versions of the X470 but none are listed as Pro4. Was curious if anyone had any experience with the X470 series and which board most closely replicates the features of the X370 Pro4?
He requested and received a RMA, I was told the better choice in mobo's would have been the X470 but now that I'm looking at the Asrock website there are multiple versions, does anyone know which model replaced the X370 Pro4?
OK, still waiting to install windows, my son is building a similar system and is stuck so I'm waiting to complete my build as I use parts from mine to trouble shoot his.... same processor, different mobo... take a look see...
This had been going on for a couple days so yea, I pretty much went through that checklist, I'll have to ask my son about the standoffs as I think he said he had to put 1 in as the case didn't have 1 to match one of the mounting points on the board but I'm not sure he checked for any extra that...
My son is putting together his first system and having problems with it. I had just completed my latest build when I ran into a compatibility issue that you were able to help me with (Motherboard needed a bios flash to recognize the Ryzen CPU, had to get the boot kit from AMD). I thought my son...
I had already bought the Win10 on disc or I would have tried that, it's supposed to be a really fast install through the thumb drive.... but I've got time, all I really wanted was stability.
Well I have successfully updated the bios to version 5.0 and to prove it I fired it back up and it didn't brick... yoo hoo.Now I get to tear it down and put it back together and see if I can figure out how to install windows10
Didn't work... the file I saved is a zip file and I'm assuming the mobo can't open it. Now don't think I'm an idiot but I'm trying to do all this on a macbook pro and I'm a pc guy, how do I open this zip with a mac?
I found a 5.0 version on the ASRock website and have it downloaded onto a flash drive, gett'n ready to plug it in and hit delete again then try the instant flash.... at worst I will cook the mobo and will get a X470 instead and I won't have to mess with this again. :)
I kind of think AMD was taking their time thinking I would find a local solution, in almost every e-mail they preface it by saying if I no longer need the boot kit to respond as such. I just found it odd that they sent the FedEx return label to print out on the 8th and the e-mail said I had 5...
Just a quick update, still waiting to receive tracking numbers for the boot kit, have received the FedEx printable label to return the CPU.... if they ever ship it.
