Thanks @Warmuro, had done quite a bit of research before getting it and the box has a big sticker that says it should be compatible with 3000 series... Obviously you're more knowledgable (y) Will keep trying to update the BIOS and revert to a CPU-less update if I have no luck. Cheers!
