It will perform a little bit better but with some games not supporting it and releasing patches for games to support it, you should just get the 980Ti.

How much can I overclock this CPU? CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX PSU: Corsair AX 860 I was thinking at about 4.2 GHZ but more is good. I just want to overclock it but not do any damage. And if you overclock it too much, will lessen the life span of it?
