Question VideoStudio Pro - a couple of questions

Thanks for that - I will have another look at it then. All I want is a simple editor with just the basics - It seems rather difficult to find these; even Open Shot is just so laden with frills that it makes it unnecessarily difficult to learn for the beginner just needing the basics. I still...

    Discussion Inserting Images into Posts

I tried to insert a jpg screen shot into a post but the 'Insert Image' above only has provision for a URL link (same as the one next to it: 'Insert Link'). As well as that option above, I tried drag n drop and cut & paste but those don't work. I had a good search for the answer to this, but...

Question VideoStudio Pro - a couple of questions

Thank you - I will look at that one. I contacted VideoStudio and asked if the Trial allows an output file to be rendered. Some do have, or don't use a watermark embedded in the video. Customer Service was so helpful (not). All I was told was exactly what is written on the site, "Some...

Question Windows 10 suddenly will not show photo thumbnails

It's Ok, I worked out how to get them back - I have to select Customise in the Advanced settings/Visual Effects - Performance Options.

Question Windows 10 suddenly will not show photo thumbnails

This happened a few weeks ago - any photos in a folder, used to have a thumbnail so you could see what it was. And Right click and clicking on "View", could change the size of the thumbnails. Now I can never see any thumbnails; all photos in a folder are shown as a generic icon with the name...

Question VideoStudio Pro - a couple of questions

Looking for a simple video editor - I was using Video Pad on my Win 7 machine and now with Win 10 that I got about a year ago (yes, I'm a bit behind the "times") I was looking for a simple reasonably priced video editor and VideoStudio Pro has come up a few times in my searches. I really love...

Question File Naming in Windows 7 ?

Yeah, it's a bit of a silly bug where if you try to create filename that's too long it will tell you, however if you rename dir and folders in the path that then create a too-long file name, it won't tell you and you possibly end up in the situation I was in.

Question File Naming in Windows 7 ?

Hi - I have recently run into a problem on my Win 7 machine where I have made some filenames too long. And now in Windows Explorer I can't do anything with them. I now have two files (mp4 files) like this and probably more as well that I haven't discovered. I can't play them or select the text...

Question Beginner trying to get External HDD back to normal ?

Drew, thanks for the comprehensive reply. These sound all Windows itself repairs, I had no idea there was that many. I think File Manager was in XP, I have Windows 7 (Pro, x 64, SP1) but I assume Windows Explorer is the same. I have only just tried the Control Panel >> maintenance but it just...

Question Beginner trying to get External HDD back to normal ?

Hi -- Can anyone recommend a simple to use program to fix a 1Tb Ext HDD so it will work normally again? That's all I want. Nothing has been deleted, it's just the drive has some corrupt areas that need fixing. WIn ScanDisk did actually improve it a little but it's still not normal. DMDE...

[SOLVED] Colour problems on new Samsung 27" curved display ?

Thanks, I appreciate the comprehensive & helpful post. I am only about half a rung up from a complete novice so I had to look up all those things. You have pointed me in a different direction so I think I see now that it is just an old/new compatibility issue. Probably drivers. But I did do...
