This happened a few weeks ago - any photos in a folder, used to have a thumbnail so you could see what it was. And Right click and clicking on "View", could change the size of the thumbnails. Now I can never see any thumbnails; all photos in a folder are shown as a generic icon with the name below them. This never happened in Win 7 or XP. Is there a way to get to see them, because the "View" option doesn't have it. Restarting PC did not work.
(I took a screenshot but I can't seem to put it into this post. I click on the "Insert Image" at the top of this text box but, it only gives an option for a URL (http://), same as the Insert Link which is next to it.)
